Effective July 1, 2007, every Health Club and Studio in California will be
required and lawfully obligated to have an AED, on site, and to comply
with maintenance, testing and training requirements.
Because Health Clubs seem to be one of the higher risk environments for Sudden Cardiac Arrest, the need for readily-available AEDs and a well designed program is significant to save lives as well as provide legally defensible documentation. Most Health Clubs are not prepared for this level of program development, management and liability risk.
